This course gives students the knowledge to correctly calculate and apply load distribution and restraint for aircraft loads including ULD's within safe loading limits.

The course is designed to provide comprehensive training in the theory and practical aspects of Load Distribution and Restraint. Students will learn the following:

  • Terminology
  • Load control general
  • Aircraft centre of gravity
  • Load distribution general
  • Rules for safe stowage/centre of gravity
  • Loading limits general
  • Hold/compartment limitations
  • Shoring general
  • General calculations and shoring methods
  • Restraint general
  • Tie down facilities and equipment
  • Restraint definitions/methods and tables
  • Unit load device inspection and damage limits
  • Occupational health and safety

Classroom assignments and exercises will give practical experience to put the knowledge gained to the test and enable the successful achievement of the assessment at the completion of the course.

Course Recognition
A certificate is issued on successful completion of an end-of-course questionnaire.
